Farm Production Assistant

We are eagerly seeking help with the upcoming harvest season as we enter our 5th year of robust and bountiful flower production. Previous farming experience is preferred, as is a knowledge of flowers.

This is a part time to full time position from March to mid-November. The Farm Production Assistant will work under the guidance of farm owner and operator Emily, who will provide thoughtful and meaningful flower training throughout the season. A part time candidate will also be considered depending on experience and skill level.

This position will primarily entail flower harvesting, but may include other aspects of field flower production including planting, weeding, plant maintenance, as well as some irrigation and greenhouse work.

Post harvest bunching and potential bouquet making are also needed depending on creativity and interest.

Work is on a preferred Sunday-Thursday schedule. Pay commensurate with experience and skills ($16-20/ hour). Exemplary work will be rewarded.

The ideal candidate will possess the following traits:

  • Hardworking, self-motivated and able to maintain an energetic pace whether working alone or with a team.

  • Possess a clear interest in organic flower production and farming

  • Be a quick learner and possess solid memory skills for the steps important when harvesting specific flowers and for other farm tasks.

  • Follow instructions, ask for help when needed and be open to suggestions as you learn new skills.

  • Be able to work outdoors in all kinds of weather, maintain a positive outlook when faced with challenging physical work and be able to comfortably lift 50 lbs.

  • Sense of humor and positive outlook even on a tight deadline

  • Prompt and reliable
